The eye of the storm
Evergreen finances documentary films that put a human face to the consequences of power. From the fallout of a colossal financial scandal perpetrated by a socialite-conman, to the transcontinental odyssey of three Afghan refugees, Evergreen’s pictures cover global affairs from intimate, unseen angles. In 2023, with three titles complete, Evergreen drafted Abbreviated Projects to design an identity and site that would magnify these stories for critical and commercial audiences.
Watching the world with subtitles
The new identity positions Evergreen as a creative powerhouse able to translate complex ideas across time and space. Language is the undercurrent of the system, which employs subtitle-style type, because like subtitles, documentaries transcend linguistic barriers to build shared humanity.
Greenlighting reality
The palette is electric and subversive, meeting stringent accessibility standards to ensure that Evergreen’s message is understood by all. And finally, a kinetic logomark exposes and eclipses evocative phrases (war, peace, truth) relevant to the films.
History at 24 frames per second
We produced a digital experience that feels as decisive as Evergreen’s method. Full-bleed footage immerses visitors upon arrival, with subtle bracketed animations to encase content, from press to awards. Each individual film is given a hero’s welcome, highlighting the company’s global reach with an interactive map of filming locations.
End scene
As Evergreen moves through the festival circuit, the new identity and site serve as strategic afterimages for curious audiences, casting new light on tales of war, peace, and modern life.
