This adaptation reminds us that active engagement is necessary to hit a moving target. We can’t remain silent observers focused on a single point of reference. Asking questions, sharing work, seeking feedback, and taking risks are our own signals. Each interaction clarifies the space we occupy and the target we’re trying to reach. As we near our goals, we must increase — not retreat from — engagement with the world.

Project conditions are never static: the continuously evolving competitive, cultural, and technical landscape in which we work requires continuous inquiry and interrogation. Like a bat honing in on prey, we need to accelerate as conditions shift. This means pressure-testing ideas in real-world contexts, proactively surfacing blind spots before they grow, engaging with diverse perspectives, asking tougher questions, and leaning into uncertainty as a necessary step toward clarity.
