No bad hair days
Valley Girl is a California-based salon founded by four women from the Valley, with a vision as bold as their blowouts. Abbreviated Projects created a minimalist brand identity rooted in blonde and lipstick hues, blunt typography, a clean grid system, and handwriting that couldn’t care less about any of it. The tone is punchy, youthful, and just a little curt — channeling the attitude of a true Valley Girl. With seductive launch imagery that celebrates hair in every texture, style, and color, Valley Girl positions itself as effortlessly cool with a sly sense of humor.
Totally love your voice
The Valley Girl voice reads like snippets from an overheard conversation at a Pilates studio or sleek bar. “Come as you are, leave as a Valley Girl.”
Clean lines
A horizontal bar is the only graphic element in the entire system, grounding compositions and forming the basis of a logo system.
Dye job
The color palette is inspired by lipstick, wine, and platinum blonde hair: elemental materials in the DNA of a Valley Girl.
Blowout reviews
“The Abbreviated team effortlessly brought our idea to life in a way that surpassed our wildest expectations. We were blown away, receiving an unbelievably positive response from all of our community. We couldn’t be happier with the results and the process was truly a pleasure.” — Brooke Cheever, Co-Founder, Valley Girl
