United we build

The American Housing Corporation is building an abundance of beautiful starter homes across the United States by industrializing the homebuilding process and practicing total vertical integration. Founded by alumni of some of America’s most prestigious technology and real estate companies, American Housing is positioned to reinvent this country’s most important product: the family home.

“Working with Abbreviated Projects felt like a natural extension of our team. They’re blazingly fast, which is critical for a rapidly growing company like ours. Abbr. made an invaluable impact on the successful introduction of The American Housing Corporation’s mission to the world.” — Riley Meik, Founder & CEO, The American Housing Corporation

Seeking engineering stars of all stripes

At its earliest stage, American Housing sought to attract the best and brightest engineers — talent that might otherwise go to advanced fields like aerospace, robotics, or energy. Every strategic, creative, and technical decision was geared toward appealing to this audience, framing housing as the most important and underexplored frontier for innovation.

Prosperity starts at home

Strategically, we positioned housing as the cornerstone of the American Dream. Drawing inspiration from World War II industrial posters, Richard Prince’s rephotographs of Marlboro ads, American bicentennial branding, and unused 1967 Olympics posters by Massimo Vignelli, we used language and design to create a sense of urgency around the housing shortage facing families in America’s great cities — appealing to both civic pride and a desire to build something of lasting national importance.

A house undivided

Abbreviated Projects operated as an extension of the American Housing team, working in person alongside leadership, architects, and creative partners. This included frequent site visits to the company’s factory and headquarters in Austin, Texas, allowing branding, architecture, and production to evolve in parallel.

The most recognizable brand on earth

Building on the flag logo designed by the company’s CEO, we refined the typographic system and introduced a sense of patina to the color palette — tones inspired by a flag that’s been hanging on a front porch for years. This was a deeply collaborative effort: we worked with the architecture studio WOJR on architectural illustrations and hyper-detailed renderings; partnered with American Housing’s internal architecture team to animate key moments in the production process; and collaborated with photographer Bryson Malone to document the factory in a style inspired by William Eggleston.

Site-specific

In parallel, we designed, wrote, and art directed the brand’s website — defining its visual language, narrative structure, and voice. The site served as a primary touchpoint for early engineers, investors, and partners, translating a complex industrial vision into a clear, compelling public story.

Launch sequence

The launch of American Housing in January of 2026 made instant waves in the world of housing, technology, and business. Overnight, the brand went from zero to more than 10,000 followers on X, with over 2M views on its launch thread. Features in Fast Company and The Free Press followed soon after. The high-profile launch helped the company rapidly close on an oversubscribed funding round. As The American Housing Corporation’s creative partner, we continue to support the team on a range of creative, strategic, and technical initiatives, from social media strategy to the production of sales and marketing materials.

“We gave Abbr. a formidable challenge and they managed to walk the very fine line in crafting a brand balancing manufacturing prowess with a softness of a cozy home. And captured a feeling of the American dream without cliché.” — Fed Novikov, VP of Brand & Strategy, The American Housing Corporation
